From Designer to Creator: Building Independent Products
For a long time, I thought being a designer was enough.
Create what people ask for.
Deliver what the brief demands.
Move on to the next project.
But somewhere along the way, something shifted.
I stopped seeing screens, colors, and layouts as just “design.”
I started seeing them as possibilities tiny windows into ideas that could grow on their own.
That’s when I realized the truth:
I don’t just want to design things.
I want to create things.
Things that solve problems.
Things that help people.
Things that don’t need permission to exist.
Building independent products isn’t just a career step for me it’s a mindset.
A belief that my ideas deserve a place in the world, even if they start small or look silly at first.
Being a designer taught me how to build.
Becoming a creator taught me why I build.
Now, every idea feels like a seed.
Some grow fast, some take time, some fade but each one reminds me that creativity isn’t limited to client work.
It’s something I can shape into my own space, my own product, my own impact.
This journey from designer to creator isn’t about leaving anything behind.
It’s about expanding what I can do and trusting that the things inside my mind can become something real, something useful, something independent.
And honestly?
I’m just getting started.
There’s a whole world of things I want to create not for a brief, not for approval, but because they deserve to exist.
This is my next chapter:
from designing for others to creating for myself.
